Vestas Offshore Wind Belgium is a joint venture between two industry leaders, Vestas and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and focuses on designing, manufacturing, installing and servicing offshore wind turbines. Vestas Offshore Wind is the market leader in Belgium, and responsible for 5 windfarms.

The 165 MW Belwind 1 windfarm utilizing 55 V90-3.0 MW turbines was installed in 2010, and the 216 MW Northwind windfarm featuring 72 V112-3.0 MW turbines was completed in 2014. The third windfarm, Nobelwind, followed in 2016 with 50 V112‑3.3 MW turbines. All projects are fully serviced under a 15-year contract by highly skilled technicians from their base in Oostende. The combined output of the three power plants provides enough renewable energy to support 596,000 Belgian households.

In 2019 Vestas Offshore Wind Belgium is installing the 370 MW Norther project, using 44 V164-8.5 MW turbines and generating green energy for a further 400,000 Belgian households. Finally, construction of NorthWester 2 will start at the end of 2019,
a 219 MW windfarm consisting of 23 V164-9.5 MW turbines that will be able to cover the electricity need of 220,000 households.
